Meditation at St Antony's Priory
2nd Saturday of the Month, 10.30am-12noon
This is a simple meditation session, suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience who might want to refresh their practice. The sessions comprise a short introduction, two periods of meditation, and time for sharing and questions.
The Fellowship of Silence
It is an aspiration to build a sustainable meditation group, open to all who wish to practice together, which will be called ‘The Fellowship of Silence’. It would be great if this could become a weekly activity, though that would depend on people being able and willing to make it happen.
The name comes from a book by Revd Cyril Hepher, sometime vicar of the Church of St John the Baptist, Newcastle (1906-13), who started a silent prayer meeting in the church over a hundred years ago. Click here to read more about this story.
Durham University Meditation Society
The University Meditation Society meet at the Priory every Wednesday, 1.15-2.15pm, during term time. Sessions are led by members of the Priory team and by the students themselves. There is a Facebook group (private) here.
